Programme Objectives
Learnability drives transferable skills. In today’s evolving economy, skills transferability is vital to sustainable employability. The ability to adapt, acquire and apply new knowledge becomes the linchpin for professional success. Learnability drives the development of transferable skills, enabling professionals to navigate the ever-changing landscape of industries and markets. The Master of Arts Education programme offered by the University Of Sunderland in partnership with MDIS is designed to equip professionals with a mindset of continuous growth and resilience in the face of evolving challenges.
   
The Master of Arts Education programme aims to enable professionals to:  

  • Improve subject knowledge
  • Raise standards in schools
  • Improve professional practice
  • Improve institutional practice
  • Develop advanced research and study skills    
You will use a range of learning strategies in the different modules, which will provide you with opportunities to develop, explore and debate your areas of interest as well as building deep understanding and theoretical knowledge. You will be actively encouraged to develop analytical and critical thinking skills. The development of independent learning is an integral part of the programme

Entry Requirements


Master of Arts Education Entry Requirements – Enrol with MDIS Singapore 
Applicants must be of age 21 and above and have one of the following academic qualifications:
1) Applicants are usually required to hold at least a second-class honours degree (2:1) or equivalent
2) Applicants should also have experience of working in education; this may be as a teacher or in another capacity in the field of education. A recognised teaching qualification is an advantage, but not an essential requirement for this course. 
Note: All applications are subject to the final approval by the University of Sunderland.  
 
English Language Requirements

  • IELTS 6.0 (with no sub-section below 5.5) OR
  • At least a Grace C6 in English at GCE 'O' Level OR
  • MDIS Professional Certificate in English (PCIE) OR
  • Pass in MDIS English Placement Test OR
  • Letter from College/University clearly stating the Medium of Instruction (MOI) of the highest qualification to be English ^
^ Medium of Instruction letters must be within the last 5 years
