Course Introduction
Accounting is essential to every industry – from your favourite products and platforms, to favoured sports teams and causes. By studying for this Degree, you will acquire the necessary professional and creative skills to shape business interactions in a creative, well-informed and ethical way. Students will explore and understand how to make decisions related to buying and selling shares, lending or borrowing money, and providing goods for cash or on credit. You will gain new skills in areas such as financial statement analysis, forecasting and budgeting, negotiation, ethical decision-making and problem-solving. These are skills that enhance your understanding of accounting standards, auditing standards and taxation acts. Thoroughly understand the language of business by acquiring a Murdoch University Accounting Degree.
Students have the option to enrol in either Single or Double Majors.

In the event of cancellation, you will be notified at least 1 week before the programme commencement date, stated in your student contract with Kaplan, and our consultants will contact you to advise on a backup plan.

ADMISSION CRITERIA
Academic Requirements
Applicants with a Polytechnic Diploma may be exempted from up to 12 units and can gain entry to Year 2 of the programme. Applicants with a Murdoch University-recognised Kaplan Diploma or a private Diploma may be exempted from up to 8 units and can also gain entry to Year 2 of the programme.
This Degree programme accepts the following qualifications, which includes:
Year 2 Entry
- Kaplan Diploma; OR
- Polytechnic Diploma; OR
- Other equivalent qualifications awarded by other Singapore-registered Private Education Institutions.
Year 1 Entry
Applicants admitted to the Bachelor’s Degree programme may be required to undertake bridging modules to fulfil the prerequisite knowledge.
English Language Requirements
Applicants are required to meet the University’s English language requirement:
- An approved Diploma qualification or higher, where the language of instruction was English, OR
- GCE O-Level English Language or Literature in English with Grade C or better; OR
- IELTS 6.0 (with no band below 6.0)*; OR
- Kaplan Diploma in Professional Business English (PBEP) with a score of 75% (Distinction) or higher*; OR
- Any other equivalent English language qualification.
In all cases, the final decision on admission to the programme rests with the university.
*Applicable for international student.

Tuition Fee
The total tuition fee covers university registration, lectures/tutorials/workshops and assessments such as assignments/tests/examinations/projects (where applicable), programme materials in digital format, Degree (if earned) and transcript.

The Student Development Fee covers the provision of a comprehensive range of initiatives aimed at enhancing the career and industry-readiness of Kaplan students, such as programmes aimed at improving interpersonal skills, technical and digital skills, as well as career advisory and job matching services.
