Course Introduction

The Diploma in Criminology programme consists of 8 modules and may be completed in 8 months, and offers a comprehensive programme aimed at providing students with a strong foundation in understanding crime, its causes and its societal implications. Through a multidisciplinary approach, students will explore various facets of criminology, including crime theories, criminal justice systems, criminal behavior and the role of law enforcement. Case studies are integrated to enhance students’ analytical and problem-solving abilities in the field of criminology. After completing this programme, students will gain valuable knowledge and skills that can be applied to various areas related to criminology.

  • Minimum class size: 20 students
    Class may commence with fewer students than indicated above, subject to resource availability. In the event of cancellation, you will be notified at least 1 week before the programme commencement date, stated in your student contract with Kaplan, and our consultants will contact you to advise on a backup plan.

Entry Requirements

Academic Requirements
  • Kaplan Foundation Diploma; OR
  • Minimum 1 GCE A-Level pass; OR
  • Other private or foreign qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis (based on the equivalence to the GCE A-Level); OR
  • Mature candidates (30 years old and above, with a minimum of 8 years of work experience)
English Language Requirements
  • At least C6 in GCE O-Level English or equivalent

The total tuition fee covers registration, lectures/tutorials/workshops and main assessments such as assignments/tests/examinations/projects (where applicable), programme materials in digital format, Diploma (if earned) and e-transcript.

Education Loan
Choice of flexible repayment schemes available to suit your needs:
  • Standard Repayment: Pay your monthly instalments (principal and interest) once your loan is disbursed.
  • Partial Repayment: Pay partial instalments for up to 3 years or till the end of your programme, whichever is earlier. Standard monthly instalments (principal and interest) will commence thereafter.
  • Interest Servicing: Pay only interest for up to 3 years or till the end of your programme, whichever is earlier. Standard monthly instalments (principal and interest) will commence thereafter.
  • Flexible repayment tenure of up to 8 years.

Each module is assessed by any combination of continuous assessments, examinations, presentations, projects or written assignments. Assessment methods may vary according to individual module requirements.
 
Delivery Mode
Part-time & Full-time
Blended learning, which is a combination of face-to-face teaching and online learning, has been introduced to the Diploma programme to improve your learning experience. 
Each full-time Kaplan Diploma programme consists of 8 modules that may be completed in a minimum of 8 months over 4 terms. Each module is timetabled to include face-to-face contact hours and supplemented with online lessons. Materials are made available via real-time online learning and on-demand self-directed learning.

Maximum allowed candidature period
